Welcome to the first Authorize.Net reseller newsletter of 2008. If you're like us, you're amazed at how quickly the first quarter of 2008 seems to have passed. All of a sudden we're into April and that can only mean one thing: the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Annual Meeting and Expo. Once again, Authorize.Net is actively preparing for what we believe will be the best ETA ever. Be sure to read on to get more information on our ETA plans.
In the meantime, however, we want to let you know that we are truly excited about the year ahead and the opportunities we have to continue to strengthen our relationships with our valued reseller partners. Even with all the success we've had over the past 12 years, we sincerely believe the best is yet to come. Read on to learn more.
Visit us at ETA – Booth 141
ETA is an event we look forward to each year and this year is no different. In addition to being able to touch base in person with valuable partners like you, we always try to take advantage of the excitement and energy of ETA to announce new products and services and this year will be no exception. Be sure to stop by our booth, number 141, to hear about these announcements and to view demos of our existing value-adding products.
We are also eager to hear your thoughts on our payment gateway services and to discuss the pertinent issues and challenges that have emerged in the industry over the past year. If you would like to schedule a specific meeting to learn more about our products, how to enhance your portfolio, or to discuss business and industry trends, please contact Reseller Support at 888-437-0481.
We'll see you soon!
Increase the Value of Your Portfolio with Value-Adding Products
Our value-adding products can potentially increase the lifetime value of each merchant in your portfolio by providing additional revenue streams. Enhance your service offering and improve your bottom line with eCheck.Net®, Fraud Detection Suite™, Automated Recurring Billing™, and Customer Information Manager. Although each of these products was developed by Authorize.Net to meet specific merchant needs, they were also developed with resellers in mind, not only to create increased "stickiness" with your merchants but also to add new, recurring revenues to your portfolios.
For your convenience, we've outlined a brief summary of our value-adding services as well as the monthly buy and suggested sell rates for each.
- eCheck.Net—eCheck.Net, our exclusive and fully integrated electronic check processing solution eliminates the inconvenience and cost of waiting for and processing paper checks, and allows merchants to accept payments from consumer and corporate bank accounts through the merchant's Web site or other business application. (Rates vary-please contact Reseller Support for more information)
- Fraud Detection Suite (FDS)—FDS is a simple way for your merchants to help protect their business from potential losses. Easy to use and customizable, FDS includes seven different filters and tools, an intuitive wizard to help merchants customize FDS to meet the specific demands of their business, as well as robust reporting capabilities. (Buy Rate: $3.00 / Suggested Sell Rate: $5.00 per month)
- Automated Recurring Billing (ARB)—ARB is an ideal solution for merchants that sell subscription-based products or services, or would like to provide their customers with an additional installment-based payment option for high-ticket purchases. (Buy Rate: $6.00 / Suggested Sell Rate: $10.00 per month)
- Customer Information Manager (CIM)—CIM allows your merchants to store their customers' sensitive information on our secure servers, simplifying payments for returning customers as well as recurring transactions. It can also potentially help merchants comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) since customer data is no longer stored locally. (Buy Rate: $14.00 / Suggested Sell Rate: $20.00 per month)
In addition to these services, reselling opportunities exist for numerous third-party solutions as well as our Virtual Point of Sale (VPOS), which creates new opportunities for you to resell card present accounts.
For more information on selling value-adding services, please visit the Reseller Toolkit at http://reseller.authorize.net and click Earn. Additional pricing information can be found by logging into the Reseller Interface at https://account.authorize.net/interfaces/reseller/frontend/login.aspx.
Merchant Activations
Did you know that the account activation link sent to your new merchants in their welcome e-mail expires after 60 days? Or that if your merchants are interrupted during the activation process, their activation link will no longer work? In both cases, you can generate a new link for your merchants in the Reseller Interface, allowing them to continue with the account activation process. Making certain that your merchants activate their accounts is a crucial step in managing your portfolio – if a merchant never activates, you will not receive any residuals for them!
To generate a new activation link:
- Log into the Reseller Interface at https://account.authorize.net/interfaces/reseller/frontend/login.aspx
- Click Update Merchant
- Find the merchant you are looking for by selecting User Login ID, Name, Payment Gateway ID or Reference ID from the Find Merchant drop-down menu, and entering the merchant's information
- Click Go
- From the General Tab, under General Information, click Generate New Activation Link
- A confirmation screen will appear that will show the e-mail address the activation link was sent to
Knowledge Base
The Authorize.Net Knowledge Base is a searchable tool your merchants can access anytime they have support-related questions. Located at http://www.authorize.net/help, the Knowledge Base is an excellent resource for your merchants to find answers to the most common support questions we receive. In addition to information on account settings, transaction processing issues, and more, the Knowledge Base includes links to demos, the Merchant Interface Online Help Files, a glossary of key terms and an e-mail form for contacting Authorize.Net Client Services. Be sure to point your merchants to this valuable resource as their first stop whenever they have customer support related questions.
Authorize.Net Logos
The world of business is constantly changing and it seems Authorize.Net's logos are no exception. To avoid confusion and maintain proper trademark compliance, it is vital that you only display our current logos on your site. For your convenience, here's a review of our logos, past and present.

New Integration Guides
In February we published new integration guides to help your merchants and their developers integrate their Web site or other business application to the Authorize.Net Payment Gateway. The new guides also include a new merchant-focused guide, the Merchant Integration Guide, which we hope you will encourage your merchants to read. The new guides are available at:
- AIM Developer Guide http://developer.authorize.net/guides/AIM/
- SIM Developer Guide http://developer.authorize.net/guides/SIM/
- Merchant Integration Guide http://www.authorize.net/support/merchant/
IMPORTANT: You must remove all older versions of Authorize.Net integration guides that you may have on your Web site—regardless of whether they are published as part of your Web site, i.e. within the HTML, or as a PDF document available for download.
If you would like to publish these new guides on your site, you may do so by implementing them as an iframe, which is a floating frame inserted within a Web page. When you use the iframe, your Web site will always display the most current version of the guides. For more information on the new integration guides as well as how to implement them on your site as an iframe, please visit http://reseller.authorize.net/sell/guides.
